August 26, 2020. A day that will go down in the history books.

This was supposed to be another “morning buzz” post about the few Game 5’s in the NBA First Round. Instead, it’s a round of applause for the NBA players who heard the cries and questions, and answered them with action. No games were played on August 26th. A bold move that said “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.” NBA players, like many people in this country are sick and tired of seeing the police shoot another black person.

My life experience and words on this matter are really not that important. That’s why it’s so important to listen right now. Listen, listen, listen! Don’t say “well yeah, but what about….” You’re immediately invalidating what you just supposedly heard. It’s impossible to watch Chris Webber talk and not feel something. For all his miscues calling games, Webber delivered yesterday.

There’s a million different videos to watch but we’ll finish with the team that started it all. Milwaukee is roughly 40 miles from Kenosha, Wisconsin — where Jacob Blake was shot seven times by the police. The Bucks have been one of the leading NBA teams in the fight against racial injustice and were the first team to strike yesterday. Here’s why the team did not play.

Is the season over? Maybe, probably, who knows. All that will come to light in the next few days. The 2020 NBA Playoffs will not be remembered by who won the Larry O’Brien trophy, but for the historic action of the NBA players.
